Western Maryland Lacrosse communities of

Allegany, Carroll, Garrett, Frederick, and Washington Counties.

Through responsive and effective leadership, the Western Maryland Chapter of USA Lacrosse strives to provide programs and services in our geographic territory that inspire participation, enhance & retain membership, and build lacrosse awareness while protecting the integrity of the game.

We envision a future which offers people everywhere the opportunity to discover, learn, participate in, enjoy, and ultimately embrace the shared passion of the lacrosse experience.

FallBall Registration
How to Register for FallBall

If you need a USA Lacrosse Membership (Players 8U and older, Coaches & Officials) please create one first at:

https://www.usalacrosse.com/membership   

The First & Last Name, DOB, Zip Code, Email Address must match in both the WMDUSALAX and the USALAX databases to verify your membership.  Sometimes it takes an overnight period for the databases to sync up.

Come back to:  www.wmduslax.org
  1. Click Register.
  2. Find the registration program you'd like to register for in the pick list.   It is at the top of an otherwise blank page..
  3. Click Register.
  4. Read the restrictions, and click Continue.
  5. If you have an account, sign in. If you do not have an account, create one.
  6. Enter the Parent/Guardian information.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. Enter the Player's information. 
  9. Click Submit.
  10. On the supplemental information page, answer all questions and complete all required fields.
  11. Click Submit.
  12. At this point, if you have multiple players to register, click the Register Another button. If not, click Pay Now.
  13. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete payment.
  14. Enjoy your summer, play some wallball & we'll see you in September!!!

FALL BALL 2022 - Registration is open July 1st - Aug 22nd

THE WESTERN MARYLAND CHAPTER OF USA LACROSSE PRESENTS 

FALL BALL 2022

Registration is Now Opening for Players, Coaches & Officials

Early Bird Special:  Save if you Register by August 1st at 23:59!!!

Avoid the Late Fee for Players if you Register by August 15 at 23:59!!!

 

Game Days:  Sundays SEPTEMBER  11, 2022 - OCTOBER 30, 2022

Format:  Most games are played with USA Lacrosse Rules in a 7v7 format with rule modifications for the short field format.  The small field format results in fast paced play with a higher game intensity index. 

HS FORMAT:  High School Varsity Girls will play 12 v 12 full field games.   Boys Format will be determined based on feedback gathered during registration.   "International 6's" and full field 10v10 options are being considered. 

Venue:  -  UTICA DISTRICT PARK  10200 Old Frederick Rd, Frederick, MD 21701

Age Groups:

Scoopers Program - CoEd 6U Clinic for Players in Kindergarden or 1st Grade.  Four Clinic Session building to four games.  Sticks & Goggles only.  Loaner goggles availible.  No Pads & Helmets for the boys in this division.

Boys Divisions:

Four age brackets for boys: 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U teams based on the age/grade of the player, with Aug. 31 the cutoff date.

  • 8U Boys Clinic has kids in Grades 1-2-3. They will have clinic + game format  Focus is on new player skill development.
  • 10U Boys has kids in Grades 3-4-5.  They will play 8 games on Sunday Afternoons.
  • Middle School Boys Division   In 2021, we created a Boys Middle School Division.   Boys must be in Middle School to play in this division.  5th graders may not register requesting to play up unless they are 11 as of Aug 31, 2022.  They will play 8 games on Sunday Afternoons with USL 14U Rules. 
  • High School Boys Division:  *** New for 2022 *** we are adding a Boys High School Division.  Boys must be in High School to play in this division.  Middle School players may not register requesting to play up unless they are 15 as of Aug 31, 2022.  They will play 8 games on Sundays with USL High School Rules and will play in a 10v10 full field format.  We will also poll for interest during registration for interest in switching to the "International 6's" format. 

​​Girls Youth Division: 

Three age brackets for girls: 8U, 10U, and a 14U Middle school division based on the age/grade of the player, with Aug. 31 the cutoff date.

  • 8U Girls has kids in Grades 1-2-3.  They will have a clinic + game format with a focus on new player skills development. 
  • 10U Girls has kids in Grades 3-4-5. They will play 8 games on Sunday Afternoons. 
  • Middle School Girls Division   In 2017, we created a Girls Middle School Division.   Girls must be in Middle School to play in this division.  5th graders may not register requesting to play up unless they are 11 as of Aug 31, 2022.  They will play 8 games on Sunday Afternoons with USL 14U Rules. 
  • High School JV Girls Division:  In the Spring of 2021, we added a Girls High School JV Division.  Girls must be in Grade 9 or 10 and must not have played in a regular season HS Varsity Game.  Experienced 8th graders may also registar for the JV division.  They will play 8 games on Sunday Mornings with High School Rules in a 7 v 7 format.
  • High School Girls Division:  In 2016, we added a Girls High School Division, and it is now our largest division!   Girls must be in High School to play in this division.  Middle School players may not register requesting to play up unless they are 15 as of Aug 31, 2019.  They will play 8 games on Sundays with USL High School Rules and will play in a 12v12 full field format.

Youth COST: $  125  + US Lacrosse Membership valid through 10/31/22 (last game day)
             Early Bird Special - Save $15 if you register before August 1st!
  Late Fee = $20 after Aug 15th   Registration will close on Aug 22nd so that teams can be formed. 
  If we reopen a "Late-Late" registration after Aug 22nd, players will only be accepted on a space available basis.
HS League COST: $ TBD + US Lacrosse Membership valid through 10/31/22 (last game day)
(Cost will be determined once availibility of turf fields are known.)
 
For insurance purposes, US Lacrosse membership is required for all players, coaches, officials, or anyone on the coach/ player sidelines. Obtain or renew your US Lacrosse Membership HERE.   Coaches must pass a background check and pass an online SafeSport Training class to maintain a USA Lacrosse Coaches Membership.
 
REFUND POLICY:
5 business day refund (processing fee applies) for registration before August 1. After August 1, 2022, we are unable to approve refunds except for a medical emergency where the athlete will miss 3 or more games.  A  Doctor’s note on physician’s letterhead stating the reason for the athletes inability to participate for 3 games will be required and verified.  All Medical refunds will be prorated.
All refunds are subject to a processing fee of $10.00. No refunds will be issued to athletes who are "no shows". US Lacrosse Membership fees are not collected nor managed by the Chapter.
 
COVID Refund Policy:   If more than 2 games are canceled due to Maryland State or Frederick County restrictions related to COVID19, The Chapter will issue prorated refunds after accounting for season related expences, credit card transaction fees etc.  
 
Weather Policy:  We play when it is safe to do so and when field conditions allow.  WMDUSLAX will not make up games due to weather cancelations.

Coaches & Officials registration is free, but US Lacrosse Membership is Required for all ages except 6U Scoopers
 

*All Players are strongly encouraged to play at their natural age level.  To request to play up a level, please submit a written request BEFORE YOU REGISTER YOUR PLAYER to Tom Powell via Email at   .  The approval Email will be needed as input  during registration**. The Western MD chapter of US Lacrosse BOD will vote on each individual request. NO player is ever allowed to play down an age level.

All athletes playing up one level must obtain a written approval via Email from Tom Powell BEFORE registering. Sorry, No verbal agreements will be honored when forming teams.

**Please register at your appropriate age level. If playing up a level is approved, you will have the opportunity to enter this information during registration.

CAUTION: If you opt out of email during registration your coach will not be able to email you.
